We sit every Saturday morning for meditation practice with the bell at 8:00 am. If you are new to meditation practice or just new to our community, please arrive 15-20 minutes early. The "Ino" will explain the bells, and we can always use help setting out the cushions and chairs.
After sitting for 30 minutes, a Dharma talk is given, followed by discussion. One of the unique practices of Zen Bridge is that a talk can be given by anyone in the sangha (community). While priests give "Dharma talks", members can give what is called a "way-seeking mind talk" which is a talk about either the path that led them to Zen and/or their current practice - challenges, realizations, or specific things they may be working with.
Currently we are practicing at Ascension Episcopal Church in Stillwater, MN. On a typical Saturday, after the Dharma talk and discussion which ends around 9:15 am, many of us meet at The Daily Grind coffee shop for enthusiastic conversations we have dubbed "java-talks." These are informal and often last until later in the morning.
In addition to our regular Saturday morning practice, Zen Bridge teachers have been teaching an Introduction to the Practice of Meditation at many local churches and community centers for over fifteen years.
The Zen Bridge Community welcomes everyone interested in the practice of meditation.
